Love Based on Blood Relation
Psalm 127:4,5 explains:
"Like arrows in the hand of a mighty man
So are the sons of youth
Happy is the able-bodied man that has filled his quiver with them.
They will not be ashamed,
For they will speak with enemies in the gate."
One hundred Psalms earlier, Psalm 27:10
asserts:
"In case my own father and my own mother did leave me,
Even Jehovah himself would take me up."
There is no doubt that family bonds can be
strong. But they are by no means the most
important things in life (Luke 14:26). Jesus
reassured his followers who had left everything in
order to follow him: "Truly I say to you, There is no
one who has left house or wife or brothers or parents
or children for the sake of the kingdom of God who will
not in any way get many times more in this period of
time, and in the coming system of things everlasting
life" (Luke 18:29,30). That Jesus loved
children is shown by what he said just prior to this
at Luke 18:16: "Let the young children come to me,
and do not try to stop them. For the kingdom of
God belongs to suchlike ones."
