Proverbs 16
1The things of the heart are arrangings of man
1The fire of Jehovah replies
2A man is admiring his own secret plan
2Jehovah is testing the skies

3Your most artful works to Jehovah commit
3Your purpose will then be fullfilled
4Jehovah created it all and to wit
4For evil days evil is willed

5The prideful of purpose Jehovah abhors
5Though hand be to hand they will pay
6By mercy and truth is bad sent out of doors
6By fear of Jehovah we pray

7When any man's ways give Jehovah delight
7Then even his enemies see him as right
8A little with righteousness wins
8Not greater abundance with sins

9A man's earnest heart may determine his way
9But footsteps are straight from Jehovah they say
10God's word fills the lips of a king
10His judgment no error will bring

11A just set of scales to Jehovah belong
11And all the stone weights are his work for no wrong
12To kings all misdeed is disgrace
12In righteousness thrones find a place

13The lips that are righteous delight of a king
13And love him they do who will speak right a thing
14The wrath of a king will send death
14A wise man will calm with a breath

15The king garners life in the light of his face
15His will is a cloud of spring rain
16Oh better is wisdom than gold in its place
16And knowledge beats silver for gain

17The path of the upright departs from a wrong
17One watching his step stays alive
18Ahead of destruction do proud airs belong
18And haughty winds herald a dive

19So better it is to be lowly of mind
19Than share in a bounty of pride
20One dealing in wisdom a pleasure will find
20In joy will Jehovah abide

21The one wise in heart we will call wise and can
21By sweetness of lips make sly gain
22Success is a well-spring of life to a man
22While teaching of fools is in vain

23The heart of the wise as a guide will let know
23And brings understanding to bear
24So pleasant when words sweet as honeycomb flow
24As healing to bones under wear

25A way that seems right is before a man's face
25But death is its ultimate end
26In labours the soul of a man finds his space
26His mouth bids him effort expend

27A man who is worthless is digging up ill
27His lips are a festering fire
28A fraudulent fellow is sowing bad will
28A slanderer cuts up desire

29A violent man is enticing his friend
29Persuading his neighbour to stray
29He leads him to what is in fact no good end
29By what is in truth no good way

30One shutting his eyes is a schemer of bad
30And moving his lips he brings harm
31A crown of gray hair is a glory be glad
31For righteousness leads to a charm

32One suffering long will surpass one with clout
32So better than conquest refrain
33Though into the lap of a man it comes down
33The lot is Jehovah's domain
