Revelation 2 1
To the agent of the Christian community in Ephesus write the following words from the one who commands the seven stars and who takes care of the seven standing lamps of gold:

Revelation 2 1
To the angel of the church in Ephesus write: These things saith he that holdeth the seven stars in his right hand, he that walketh in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks:

Revelation 2 2
I see your efforts, indeed your suffering, along with your hopeful endurance, and how with an unclouded conscience you challenge self-proclaimed apostles of Christ and expose their hypocrisy.

Revelation 2 2
I know thy works, and thy toil and patience, and that thou canst not bear evil men, and didst try them that call themselves apostles, and they are not, and didst find them false;

Revelation 2 3
You have suffered but kept on enduring. You have become tired in my behalf, still you don't slow down.

Revelation 2 3
and thou hast patience and didst bear for my name`s sake, and hast not grown weary.

Revelation 2 4
On the other hand, the zealous love which you prized above all else you no longer hold dear.

Revelation 2 4
But I have [this] against thee, that thou didst leave thy first love.

Revelation 2 5
Think of what you've lost, be regretful, and reestablish your former greatness, or else I'll be there before you know it to take your lamp away from you.

Revelation 2 5
Remember therefore whence thou art fallen, and repent and do the first works; or else I come to thee, and will move thy candlestick out of its place, except thou repent.

Revelation 2 6
Otherwise, you hate what the followers of Nicolaus are doing, and I share that hatred.

Revelation 2 6
But this thou hast, that thou hatest the works of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate.

Revelation 2 7
The one with discernment will understand what the inspired message means to all Christian communities. To the victor goes the spoil-- to eat from the tree of life in the garden of God.

Revelation 2 7
He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith to the churches. To him that overcometh, to him will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the Paradise of God.

Revelation 2 8
To the agent of the Christian community in Smyrna write the following words from the one who is the beginning and the end, who was found dead but who now lives:

Revelation 2 8
And to the angel of the church in Smyrna write: These things saith the first and the last, who was dead, and lived [again]:

Revelation 2 9
I see your work, your suffering, and your poverty-- but you're rich! I also see the blasphemy by those who pretend to be God's people-- on the contrary, they are organized worshippers of Satan!

Revelation 2 9
I know thy tribulation, and thy poverty (but thou art rich), and the blasphemy of them that say they are Jews, and they art not, but are a synagogue of Satan.

Revelation 2 10
Don't be at all afraid of your impending trouble. Look! The Devil is about to throw some of you into jail to test you. Oh, you'll be tested all right, but the prize of life will be given to those who remain loyal in the face of death.

Revelation 2 10
Fear not the things which thou art about to suffer: behold, the devil is about to cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days. Be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee the crown of life.
